Uber offers free rides and meals for nurses again this Christmas

Nurses and colleagues across the UK will be able to claim free lifts and meal vouchers this Christmas, as part of an annual campaign organised by Uber.

Those behind the initiative, which is in its eighth year running, said it was Uber’s way of ‘expressing heartfelt thanks’ and making NHS staff’s holiday season ‘a bit more manageable’.

The offer enables those with an official NHS email address to claim two £10 Uber rides to get to and from work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as a £10 Uber Eats voucher for a meal or grocery delivery.

NHS staff, and Health and Social Care (HSC) in Northern Ireland, must ensure their Uber account is linked to their official NHS email address by midnight on 20 December.

Eligible users will receive a promo code via email to redeem for rides and Uber Eats on 24 and 25 December 2024.

Andrew Brem, general manager at Uber UK, said: ‘We are deeply grateful to the incredible NHS staff who selflessly dedicate themselves during the festive season, often putting others’ needs ahead of their own.

‘This initiative is our way of expressing heartfelt thanks and making their holiday season a bit more manageable.
