Attend the Nursing in Practice live conference this month in London

The final free tickets for Nursing in Practice’s annual conference in London are waiting to be secured.

Thursday 20 March will see nurses from across primary care gather for a full day of presentations,  discussions, an exhibition, and a chance to meet the speakers, primary care colleagues and the Nursing in Practice team.

With sessions led by Nursing in Practice nurse advisory board members Marilyn Eveleigh, Helen Lewis and Rhona Aikman, planned topics for the day include key areas such as: cardiovascular disease, incontinence, respiratory care, women’s health, mental health, Parkinson’s disease and diabetes.

Sara Jay, neurodevelopmental nurse specialist, will focus on the topical subject of ADHD. As an ADHD nurse with ADHD herself, Sara’s session will give an overview of evidence-based treatment options, the role of medication and behavioural approaches and general advice on individualised and holistic approaches to care for this group of patients.

Popular speaker, Ruth Bailey, advanced nurse practitioner in sexual health, will address current questions around HRT and the menopause. The session will provide nurses with the continued knowledge to support menopause in primary care.

Another interesting discussion will help nurses to identify sleep related issues and also support patients in managing them, suggesting things that will help and when to pass a patient along for more support.

Also among the key speakers, Debbie Hicks, independent consultant in diabetes nursing will focus on insulin therapy regimens and delivery options, how to deliver it and the importance of correct injection technique.

The Nursing in Practice live London conference will take place on Thursday 20 March.

The busy programme for the day will be practically focused and interactive, with questions from the floor encouraged, and take-home points to use in practice and to discuss with colleagues.
